i meant to post about last weekend…well….last weekend, but that didn’t happen! oops! so here is a recap now…. because it’s worth talking about 
paul’s parents and grandma grace came into town to celebrate (belatedly) both his dad’s and grandma’s birthdays. his grandma is 91 years old and still lives alone, drives around town, does (and finishes i might add) the daily crossword puzzle, and can still beat paul at cribbage. she’s incredible! and hilarious. i hope i have her….what’s the word….i-don’t-give-a-rip-what-anyone-thinks-of-me-or-what-i-say-ness, when i’m 91! example: paul made pancakes for us all on saturday morning…she apparently prefers hers thin and crepe like because when paul asked her how she liked them her reply was “well…they look done. but they sure don’t taste done.” hahahaha! i died.
we also took a drive out to our new home spot! it was so fun dreaming about what it will all look like and taking the fam through the model homes to show what ours will (sort of) look like. best part: here we are in this beautifully decorated and new model home with all sorts of windows and hardwood and countertops to look at, and GG(grandma grace) sits down on the couch (which i think is frowned upon at model homes, but she didn’t care..), grabs a throw pillow and (a little disgustedly) says (while peering at the stitching) ” huh, i could make that ..” and tosses it aside. hahahah!! and you know, she probably could too…
it was really nice celebrating last weekend with the whole fam, and we can’t wait to do it again soon!
oh! and she bought herself an IPAD for her 90th birthday. just because. she plays on it all the time..its’ so cute!

pauly was a cooking machine this weekend and made a delish dinner on saturday night too. we roasted brussel sprouts in the oven with olive oil and s&p for 25 mins and they were NO JOKE like candy!!
